Watching the Clouds Break
Sometimes when I am driving at night, the Oklahoma sky yields an amazing view. As I look up I can see what appears to be an entire canvas of clouds cascading across the sky. As the clouds gather, I can see the beginning of a break. It is here that I often wonder: Is this what it will look like when He comes back? Will I look to the sky and see it part and suddenly time and space intersect and I am drawn out of the temporary and into the eternal? I long for that day. Perhaps this is what it will be like when I depart. Looking for the end of all things for me. For the moment when the flag waves and the race is over. That moment when I will cross the line and I will look to sky and see a "cloud of witnesses" raptured in euphoria. The sound of oceans clapping in exuberance and all of creation celebrating the end that is the beginning. And there He will stand, the original Victor. The firstborn from the dead. The eternal son. "Welcome to my kingdom and yours. Welcome to your reward my good and faithful servant. Your race is run. Now join your brothers and sisters in the stands and cheer on the others. A time is coming when we will all sit together and celebrate The Victory. We will eat, drink, and be merry." It's amazing what a night sky can do to the mind.

Unyielding Love
I have often wondered how it is that God simply loves us. That there is no real challenge to the fabric of His love, because His love is complete. It is unfettered and unchanging. Unlike the love I possess, which is often dependent on whether my day has gone well. Often times whether or not I am able to function in the manner I think I should tends to be the source of my love. God who is not fickle nor is he trite, manages to love me regardless of the day. It is here that I truly begin to see where he fits in all things. God is great and his love is unyielding.
